Monarch Cross Country Meet

We're excited to host the second annual St. Edward XC Invitational on Friday, November 8! Here is some info on the event:

  • Course info: A 2.0 mile out and back starting at the Las Ramblas trailhead and heading out towards (but not all the way to) the flagpole. The entirety of the race is on the trails (no pavement).  Photo of the course here.
  • Race time: Girls will be racing at 3:05, boys around 3:35. Awards ceremony at approximately 4:00.
  • General info: Park along the street at the top of Camino Las Ramblas near the Las Ramblas Trailhead, map here. Note: the closest restroom is a mile down the road at Acu Canyon Park. A short 80 second video including directions, a description of the course environment, and an animated flyover of the course can be viewed here
  • Timing & Awards: The race will be timed by Finished Results. The top three winners for each race will receive a medal at the ceremony following the boys race.
  • Setting: As the course is on the trails in the hills, the runners will be reminded to watchout for/respect any wildlife they may encounter. Each school is encouraged to have a photographer or two on the course, as photos of the runners in the late afternoon sun with the hills and ocean in the background should turn out great!
  • Atmosphere: We're going for a Tour de France feeling, with fans lining the course and making tons of noise to cheer on the runners. Bring your noisemakers, music, and throat lozenges. Encourage family, friends, and your school communities to come out to support - the more fans, the more memorable for the runners (our ultimate goal). Thanks in advance for helping to reward the runners for their hard work with a party environment they'll remember!
  • Registration: There will be NO registrations the day of the event. Registration is open until noon on November 4 by clicking here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VfVroKSkXq8pHmp4LOi4ciryo26Jo0rmHcO8LIq4rfA/edit?usp=sharing
  • Cost: $15 per runner. We will email an invoice to the participating school following the deadline, based upon registrants received prior to November 4 at noon.

Thanks in advance for the grace and patience should we need it. We can't wait to see you, your runners, and your school communities out on the course! In the meantime, please reach out with questions to [email protected]
